I can´t remember how many packages are in it. This is in July (or June?) every year, when NI gives a 50% deduct on updates. I bought the Version 12 at the last summer of sound. Is not that good from my point of view as Kontakt (full) is not in it. You sign up on the website, download Native Access and anything you see there is available for you for free. Komplete Start (I can´t remember if it was officially called like that before).More filler, and definitely not such a vast expansion of capabilities.Īnd if you have a Maschine Mk3 already, the Maschine Factory Library is one of the nicest things NI produces. Afterwards you get diminishing returns, I feel. The jump to Komplete Standard are the biggest jump you can make in the NI world and the ones you can expect to get the most out of.

I probably wouldn't have sprung for this update alone unless update is discounted. I was hyped for "Modular Icons" as I am always ready to give some analog synth sounds some love, but there's no way I can see to find out which sound was made with which synth, it's actually a silly little product. I had 12 first and I must say very little got added, and what got added I have yet to try. The Ultimate and CE bustle with Expansions, but that seems a bit like filler - you hardly need all expansions. Also recommended: Wait for a sale on these. You get a lot of presets, but you already have those with Standard.Įxpansions are fun and can be bought individually, they are a good way to add some nice presets and samples, and they can be a good way to spend your NI vouchers. Already in Standard there are way too many "fiddly controls" synths that may be good for getting some random inspiration, but I don't feel they really add to the toolbox.

To get the full Symphony Series you need to upgrade twice, there's not much else that hits my eye, maybe the cinematic stuff. more, but even though I have heavy "collectivitis" (wanting to have everything) I find it hard to justify. (Not to mention full Kontakt - a prerequisite for many sample libraries out there.) It is much easier to work with, a great step forward. You get all the synths and tools - Reaktor, Massive, Massive X, Absynth, Prism, MikroPrism - these are tools that allow you to do anything, and Massive X is a steal in a bundle or at half-price. U/uberdavis is absolutely right - Ultimate is not as good an investment as Standard is.įor me, Standard was a no-brainer.
